Earth Is Our Beautiful Home

We can look around at the beauty of the mountains to the canyons and valleys, and agree on their splendor and incredibility. There are many aspects of our world that God designed for us to enjoy. Many of the natural resources that we utilize to live by and to improve the quality of lives are God-given gifts. While we all enjoy the benefits of the planet, oxygen, water and other natural resources, there are about as many different opinions as there are people about how we ought to deal with the issues that impact the health of our native earth.

Earth belongs to the Lord

We are stewards over God’s creation - Earth

In the book of Genesis, in the Bible, God gave man dominion over the earth. This in turn, makes us responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the earth. Psalm 24 tells us that the earth belongs to the Lord. It’s the work of His hands, His creation, designed to point to Him, to bring Him glory and to give us a tiny glimpse of His majesty and His creativity. We are responsible for managing the diverse treasures that this world has to offer.
Care for the environment

We are responsible to one another.

We care for the environment out of duty and a part of the God-given responsibility to mankind. However, it’s also imperative for us to acknowledge that we are accountable to one another in how we maintain our shared environment and native earth home. We must consider the condition of the earth as we hand it off to the next generation. From this perspective, our daily decisions on how to steward the planet makes a tremendous impact on how we honor God’s creation and how we honor all of mankind. Earth is our temporary home.
